Clint Newsom is a Graduate Student at the University of Michigan’s School of Information and a Web Applications Programmer at the University’s Information Technology Central Services, where he works on an application sign-up service called Wasup. Clint has interests in areas such as Interaction Design, Human Computer Interaction, Social Computing, Information Retrieval, and Information Services. Previously, he was a Graduate Student at the School of Oriental and African Studies, writing his M.A. thesis on discourse in the political media of Tamil Nadu, India.

In an alternate life (before coming to Michigan), Clint was a musician and made several internationally released recordings in bands such as Minetta, Rhythm of Black Lines, The Hades Kick, The Fall on Deaf Ears and his solo project Reflections.

He has worked for the University of Texas Libraries Perry-Castañeda Online Map Collection, New York University’s Health Sciences Libraries, and The American Museum of Natural History. During the first year of his life in New York Clint survived many burns and spills as a line cook at Bobby Flay’s Mesa Grill.
